Since 2020, Visual Communication Source joins teams from the National Arts Centre (NAC) of Canada and the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards Foundation (GGPAAF) to create the visuals for the 2026 tribute show in Ottawa, Ontario. It’s an on-going partnership.

Overall, the project remains the same, but each year brings new challenges and new promo materials. Along with an incredible team of professionals, these inevitable annual variations keep the project exciting!

The project always begins with editing  high resolution photo for each Laureates. These headshots end-up on almost every single piece or every size and shape. From social media posts to the NAC building’s “lantern” on Elgin St.

This year there was a request to tighten up the typography for the award logo and balance out the visual overall. The typeface was inconsistent with GGPAAF branding norms.

The final headshots and new logo appear on every single promo piece. As with previous years, these include a program, invitations and digital tickets, social media campaigns, step and repeat banners, digital and print advertising, dinner menus, sponsorship slideshows and event signage.
